Product types

Products that are free at the point of use for the user, including digital resources, content and apps.

Focus

Products in this category must be free at the point of use for the user and designed for use within educational institutions or as part of pupils’ independent learning and support activities outside of the classroom.

Criteria

Products will be judged against the following measures (where appropriate for the category/product):

  • Distinction and innovation
  • Suitability/fit for purpose (i.e. does it match the curriculum)
  • Parental accessibility and engagement
  • Inclusivity, digital accessibility and usability
  • GDPR compliance
  • Online safety
  • Breadth of evidence and research
  • Customer support
  • Environmental sustainability

Entries will be marked down if

  • Login details are not supplied or do not work
  • Products are offline or unavailable at time of judging

  • If you wish to save your entry and come back to it at a later date then press the "save for later" button below right. You will then receive an email with a link which you can click on to return to your entry form.

    In case of technical difficulties entrants are advised to save a version of their core entry in word prior to submitting their entry.

  • Please provide a brief summary of product and how it is designed to be used (For example, is it learner-led, or integrated with classroom teaching, or does it support planning for leaders and managers? (max. 500 words)
  • Eligibility of products

  • If you have previously entered a product for a Bett Award, please outline what has changed since the last submission. Please note only products that are substantially different will be considered. Please upload proof of this in the upload facility at the bottom of the page. Please note there is a maximum of 10mb of uploads allowed for the whole of your entry.
  • Product Description: (1,000 words max)

  • Please provide a synopsis of the major features and benefits of the product and how the entry meets the criteria. Please explain here the unique attributes and major points of differentiation and innovation of the product, and its application.
  • Installation Details

  • Access to view Online Product - IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

    A dummy / test user account must be set up and provided beneath for the Judges to access your online product.  Please provide a log-in link (url), username and password as appropriate with clear instructions on how the Judges can access to view and explore your service.

    Please note: failure to comply with this step will mean products cannot be judged.
  • Please give details about how a customer would usually receive the login/activation information for your product, for example registration email.
  • Installation and Support: Please describe the following in no more than 500 words.
    • Who is expected to install the product?
    • Does your product require audits/installation or training? How are these obtained and are they included in the standard cost of the product?
    • Level of support offered with product
    • If your product relies on this third party utilities, software or products, how would you ensure that the customer could obtain these?

    Applicants may upload one piece of supporting material, of no more than 10mb.

    Please note that the attachment will not be saved by the "SAVE & CONTINUE" feature - add the attachment when your entry is complete and you wish to submit your entry.

  • SUMMARY - 200 WORDS MAX

    In the event of your submission being shortlisted we will publish a 200 word summary of your submission on our website. Please write the summary below keeping in mind that any results or other sensitive information may end up in the public domain.
